Appreciations:
I received an email from Isoyama Sensei and spoke with him over the telephone the other day. He just arrived home from a long trip. His plane was delayed four hours in San Francisco and they had to change planes due to engine trouble. With the additonal 13 hours flight, he arrived home late at night so it was a very long and tiring trip for him.
Isoyama Sensei asked me to relay his personal thanks to all of our students who participated in his seminar. He said that the thoughtfulness, support and attention to detail was exceptional and he is very grateful.
I would like to ask each particpant to write a "Thank You" card or letter to Isoyama Sensei, expressing your thanks for his seminar the other day. I would like to get this from all of your immediately because "thank you's" should be be delayed or come late. and must be delievered immediately to have meaning. Please cooperate and put your attention to this. I would like to put each card together and send it to him all together. Many thanks.
Although all of our students did well in technical skill, we still need to work on our etiquette and attitude in practice. An awake and alert mind means to think of everything and see everything before anyone else. You need to see what needs to be done and get it done quickly and properly so that everything runs smoothly and no one even notices your efforts. Usually, we think too much of ourselves to think of others, we are too absorbed with our pride and egos, to notice the needs and cares of others, we are too lazy and self-indulgent to lift a helping hand to another person. . . . . This is where all Aikido practice should be directed too.
