Announcement:
No Aikido classes on Nov. 10 and Nov. 11. This coming Friday and Saturday only.
There will be regular classes on Sunday.
It is important to maintain a regular practice schedule. Like many things in our lives - a regular routine is best for both body and mind. Although we do not feel it significantly, if you begin to vary the times you take meals or your sleep habits - your body and mind instantly go out of balance. Changing your environment, work place, residence, etc. actually "shocks" the body. In our society today, because we are not aware of this phenomenon, we continually shock our bodies and minds into a kind of numbness so eventually we do not feel anything - whether we are in balance or not. . . . .
Part of recovering one's balance in daily Aikido practice. It is a great change from our chaotic society, strained work conditions, jammed freeways, rude people, crowding everywhere, lack of consideration for basic life values and on and on.
If you look carefull, this imbalance is readily evident - in one's posture, the stiffness in the shoulders and neck, the direction and light in the eyes, the color of the skin and tongue, the general balance of the face, the walk, and the way one moves their fingers and hands
Try not to miss your practice, come often but regularly. Most benefits of Aikido practice cannot be seen immediately nor can they be sensed until one develops a high level of awareness about one's self.
