TEACHER'S WORK:

A good teacher will put teaching over friendship. In doing so, he becomes your best friend.

Although the teacher is your friend, he is also your opponent. He is your opponent who will make your better self shine brightly.

It is natural that a good teacher puts his student before himself - just as natural as a mother who puts her child before herself.

STUDENT'S WORK:

The student perpetuates the linage of the teacher, like the son perpetuates the line of his father.

When we appreciate this, we understand how the art can be passed down from one generation to the next.

The Best Teacher doesn't teach, the Best Student doesn't learn. It is a much more precious, higher relationship beyond such bias, dualistic thinking.
