Aikido is first and foremost tai-iku or that it must first be learned with the body. However, it is estimated that only 5% of students are kinesthetic learners and as much as 45% of students are visual learners which means they associate ideas and concepts with images. To that end, sometimes it may be helpful to “see” what is being taught. I have posted some videos on Aikido, Iaido and self-improvement that I have found to be helpful. The hardest part is that no matter if you are primarily visual or auditory, you must still be able to “do” Aikido.
